Circular 63 of 2021: Induction Programme for Trustees
The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) will once again be hosting a two-day Induction Programme for the Board of Trustees (BoT) of medical schemes. This workshop will be held on Microsoft Teams from 1 -2 December 2021. The workshop will provide trustees who missed previous meetings with an opportunity to attend.
The induction sessions are aimed at providing guidance to newly appointed members of the Board of Trustees on the following:
- Introduction and compliance to the Medical Schemes Act
- Overview of healthcare, PMBs and COVID-19 as a PMB
- Accreditation of healthcare brokers and managed care organisations
- Complaints and Adjudication procedures
- Financial soundness of a medical scheme

Please Note: The Induction Programmes for Trustees will be the only pre-requisite for registration in the CMS Advanced Leadership Programme for Trustees.
