Circular 27 of 2024: Update on the Financial ASR submissions for 2023

This circular provides the industry with updated information on the submission of the 2023 Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and Financial Annual Statutory Returns (ASR).

In Circular 21 of 2024, it was communicated to the industry that CMS expected to go live with the 2023 Financial Annual Statutory Returns system in the beginning of June 2024.

The front-end of our system is developed but additional development time is required to complete the back-end validations and word document. As a result, there will be a further delay in going live with the 2023 Financial Annual Statutory Returns system. The anticipated submission required per Section 37(1) of the Medical Schemes Act, 131 of 1998 will be announced once the system is live, but it is only expected to go live at the end of June 2024.

Schemes will be provided with the six-week period for completion of their full submission.
