Circular 23 of 2026: Updates relating to the CMS Audit Quality Indicators (AQI) Submission Portal

The CMS hereby informs medical schemes of delays affecting the implementation of the CMS Audit Quality Indicators (AQI) Submission Portal.

Medical schemes are encouraged to continue with the assessment of auditors using the CMS AQI’s as communicated in Circular 4 of 2026 and to proceed with the necessary evaluation processes in preparation for submitting the required information once the portal becomes available.

The CMS anticipates that the AQI submission portal will go live on 30 September 2026. Further communication and guidance regarding access to the portal and submission deadlines will be provided prior to the launch date.
