The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) remains committed to strengthening governance and leadership within the medical schemes sector. In support of this mandate, CMS, in collaboration with the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), is offering a specialized programme designed to enhance leadership capabilities of scheme trustees and senior industry professionals.

Trustee Development Programme in Collaboration with GIBS

The Council for Medical Schemes’ Trustee Development Programme is a premium training opportunity tailored for experienced trustees and medical scheme professionals seeking to elevate their leadership competence. The programme features engaging workshops, real-life case studies, and expert-led presentations from respected industry leaders. Delegates will refine their strategic thinking, strengthen communication skills, and develop effective conflict-resolution strategies, enabling them to lead with confidence for impact.

• The Programme is aimed at Trustees and Principal Officers who have undergone the Induction Training Programme.

• The programme is spread over three modules (2 days per module).

• Training focus is on Ethical and Governance issues, amongst others.

Programme Dates:

• 08–09 October 2026 – Launch and Module 1

• 03-04 November 2026 – Module 2

• 26-27 November 2026 – Module 3 and Certification
