Clarity on alleged improper procurement practices at Bonitas Medical Scheme
On 14 October 2024, the Business Day published an article titled “Anatomy of a scandal: Bonitas said to
have lost Sanlam’s trust.” Following the publication, the Registrar initiated a Section 43 Enquiry in
February 2025. The Enquiry involved the request for certain information from Bonitas Medical Scheme
