CMS Annual Report 2022/23 is available now!
The CMS released its Annual Report for the 2022/23 financial year today, revealing a solid organisational performance in a challenging operating environment marred by policy changes, shifting healthcare needs and a tough economy.
Dr Sipho Kabane, Chief Executive and Registrar of CMS, announced that the organisation had achieved an 89.9% performance score and an unqualified audit outcome. CMS has also improved its financial position despite economic constraints over the past three years.
On the protection of members, the CMS introduced a game-changing approach to addressing member complaints and reducing their turnaround time by 56 days. Similarly, the past financial year saw CMS undertaking 66 consumer education and awareness activities for the benefit of medical scheme members.
CMS remains committed to promoting universal healthcare initiatives, including consolidating medical schemes and standardising benefit options. It has also led efforts to deal with Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA), culminating in an industry charter, codes of good practice, and tribunal rules.
