Circular 40 of 2022: Extension of deadline for comments to revise Circular 20 of 2010 on the appointment of Brokers by a member and/or employer in terms of Regulation 28(7) of the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998)

The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) recently published Circular 35 of 2022, calling for comments or suggestions from all affected parties to improve Circular 20 of 2010, specifically on the appointment of brokers by a member and/or employer (in case of employer group), as stipulated in Regulation 28(7) of the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998) (MSA).

To give all affected parties a reasonable opportunity to provide comments and suggestions, CMS has extended the deadline for comments and suggestions from 31 July 2022 to 31 August 2022.

Please submit your comments/suggestion to Ms Florence Maphanga, at f.maphanga@medicalschemes.co.za by no later than 31 August 2022.
