Circular 38 of 2025: Proposed Levies for Medical Schemes 2026/27

The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) has published a general notice in Government Gazette No. 53637, dated 7 November 2025, on the proposed levies for medical schemes for the 2026/27 financial year.

The CMS proposes that, in respect of a medical scheme registered in terms of Section 20 of the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998), the proposed levy for the 2026/27 levy year shall be set at an amount of R54.66 per principal member per year, which shall be paid in two equal installments, the first of which shall be paid not later than 30 April of the levy year, and the second of which shall be paid not later than 30 June of the levy year.
