These sessions will provide guidance to newly appointed members of the Board of Trustees (BoTs) of open medical schemes on the following topics:

• Introduction to the Medical Schemes Act
• Compliance with the Medical Schemes Act
• Accreditation of Brokers and Healthcare Providers
• Overview of Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs)
• Complaints and Adjudication Procedures
• Financial soundness of Medical Schemes

These sessions aim to help the BoT members understand their roles and responsibilities under the Medical Schemes Act. The sessions will cover important topics such as compliance, accreditation, and financial soundness of medical schemes. Additionally, members will be briefed on the process of complaints and adjudication procedures.
